Transneft UW Service started using the new high-technology equipment for channel survey of underwater crossings of trunk pipelines (TP): it is a hydrographic survey unit on the basis of a modern version of a multi-beam echo sounder.

Testing and setup of the equipment were carried out in April 2017 at the facility of Chernomortransneft at the Kuban river. Tests have proved that the unit helps to obtain the results complying with the 2008 IHOS-44 international hydrographic survey standard in terms of accuracy.

Use of the multi-beam echo sounder helps to carry out the total survey of underwater topography with an opportunity to study certain objects located there in detail, to provide hydrographic support to the work at all stages of construction supervision and to carry out underwater technical survey of hydraulic engineering structures with a 3D modeling option.
