Transneft UW Service has completed scheduled repairs at the Pokrovka — Syzran oil trunk pipeline’s underwater crossing of the Ob River in Samara Region.
The works were launched in May at the 82nd km of the oil trunk pipeline. Oil transportation via the Pokrovka — Syzran oil trunk pipeline went on as usual.
The goal was to bring the sections of the underwater crossing of the oil trunk pipeline with substandard depth in accordance with the regulatory documentation and ensure reliable and safe oil transportation.
The length of the Pokrovka — Syzran oil trunk pipeline’s underwater crossing in the bed of the Volga River is 9 km. The measures were carried out by specialists of Transneft UW Service with the help of specialists from the Samara Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate of Transneft Volga Region. Three floating vessels were used.
The pipeline’s position was fixed by putting sandbags under it, which involved operating a floating crane. The works were carried out by a group of divers from Transneft UW Service. Laying of flexible concrete mats at the bottom in the area of the underwater crossing of the oil trunk pipeline in order to strengthen the structure became the final stage.
The employees of Transneft UW Service’s underwater operations division completed the routine works on schedule.
